Jan Lee-Johnson

Narrative and humour are suggested in my paintings and drawings.

Visual clues are painted, sometimes trompe l’oeil style with ‘collage’  effect suggesting a historical reference to places and events.

I prefer to paint large scale where possible to enjoy the freedom and joy of  expressive mark making.

I use oil paint and acrylic depending on the subject I am currently working on and I factor in drying time.

Drawing is of primary importance, both in my sketchbook and on my iPad.

This year I am available for 1 to 1 sessions for artists and creatives  wishing to explore iPad drawing, from May onwards.
