Welcome to KAOS:

We are a voluntary group set up and run by local artists to promote the visual arts in Kingston upon Thames.

Established in 2010 we are open to artists, sculptors, ceramicists and other crafts people living or working in or around Kingston.

We are currently a self funded group, aiming both to raise the profile of art in the community and sell our work. We are completely reliant on volunteers but have already made a mark on the visual arts scene in Kingston.

In 2011 we held our first exhibition in Kingston Market House, part of which was to make a giant painting with the help of the public. The aim was to remind people that art is for everyone, and can be great fun. The result is “Mark-it” a colourful picture of the town centre which has been donated to the Princess Alice Hospice.

This was followed by two OPEN STUDIO weekends in the summer, and exhibition in Southfields in September and two weeks of KAOS Fair Art Fair leading up to Christmas.

Plans for 2012 are even more ambitious. As well as our OPEN STUDIOS event in June and July, we will be back in the Market House with a “Great Britain” themed exhibition in May. Also in the summer we will be holding our first exhibition in the gallery at Denbies vineyard in Dorking.

Later on in the year there are plans for a two week exhibition again at the Market House, and of course our very successful affordable art and ceramics fair for two weeks before Christmas.
